I'm JT. I'm an English major with a concentration in Literature and a minor in Philosophy. I like to read, write poetry, play guitar, go to shows, geocache and listen to records.

Phish is my favorite band. Page's House. Mike's House. Theremin Jams. Muumuus. Trey's Flannel. Mike's Purple Pants. Page's New Shirt. Mike's Groove. Page Side Rage Side. Mike Side Right Side. Fishman/Chocolate Syrup. Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Page McConnell, Jon Fishman.

Other bands I dig: The Who, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Clash, The Ramones, Led Zeppelin, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Titus Andronicus, The Gaslight Anthem, etc.

My favorite authors are: Albert Camus, Franz Kafka, Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, Paul Auster, Philip Roth, Anton Chekhov, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Vladimir Nabokov, and Walt Whitman.

I dig Existentialism, Atheism, and Absurdism.

If you could only see what I see when I walk onstage…I see the faces. I see joy. And if that’s escapism for three hours then fine. There are enough bad messages in our culture that people are getting bombarded with CONSTANTLY: you’re not good enough, you don’t look right, you don’t have enough money. And to be able to look at a large group of people looking back at me who look like they don’t have a care in the world for fifteen seconds…not only that, but they feel like they’re…joy, there’s actual joy etched into there faces for a bit of time. It’s such an honor.
